This constitution was modeled structurally after Anthropic’s Claude Constitution—the document that governs how Claude, Anthropic’s AI, behaves in the world. We asked: if AI has a constitution for how to be a good AI, shouldn’t artists have a constitution for how to work with AI?

The Artistic Constitution is the answer.

It is a living document. It will evolve as the artist-AI relationship matures, as technology advances, as artists discover new ways of working and new questions that need answering.
